Pentatonic blues in a major scale is important even though it is not dominat. However, in the formation of solo or melody almost all musicians use this scale because it gives a different nuance. On blues music it’s often used as the major-minor blues or sometimes just major blues.
Pentatonic major scale bearer appear on many modern blues, jazz blues such as the legendary B.B. King and George Benson have cool that integrate with the major pentatonic 6th tone (usually written as the 6th chord). I often call this as the melody or 6 tone dominanth 7 as I used as the 7th melody. Design is only for convenience that the solo / melody we play nuanced tone to 6 (la). Or if A gets additional chord tone 6 will be the A6. If we listen to solo’s B.B. King is beautiful, then we must take good with the major pentatonic. To have a feel of the lick appear between 7 chord tone, such as A7, D7 and E7 and diselingi with 6 chord. Following example emphasizes the major pentatonic solo or with a thick tone to 6 nuance.
